Call for Demos

The ICDE Demonstrations program provides an exciting and highly interactive way to demonstrate your database systems research. Proposals for research prototype demonstration should focus on developments in the area of data and knowledge engineering, showing new technological advances in applying database systems or innovative data management/processing techniques.

All demonstration submissions must be within four pages in the standard IEEE proceedings style and should:

  • motivate the demonstrated concepts,
  • describe the system and the technology,
  • explain what features/scenarios will be demonstrated, and
  • state the significance of the contribution.

In addition, as an option, authors can submit a short (at most 4 minute) video illustrating the demonstration scenario. The accompanying video must clearly specify the paper it is affiliated with. It must be in MPEG format and playable using a wide variety of media players.

The demonstrations will be selected based on several criteria including novelty, the research contributions of the demonstration system, and the "wow" factor of the demonstration. We specially solicit submissions that highlight new applications of database technologies.

Please submit your demo paper through the CMT site for ICDE 2011 Demo Track. To submit an optional demo video, please email DEMO PC Co-Chair Kevin Chang <> for the instructions of video submission.
